Pimples? Let nature take care of it
Updated: May 12
Pimples and blemishes can come at any age. I thought I was done with them in my teens, but noooo. A big, fat pimple would appear before a major presentation
They would appear at the most inopportune times, during a big presentation or holiday. Thank heavens they did not appear on my wedding.
There are many causes for pimples. Such as hormones, poor diet & environment, lifestyle (sleeping late!), and stress. It takes a lifestyle change to truly deal with the source of the issue, but I digress.
Today, I just want to share some ways to improve the appearance of pimples, the natural
Helichrysum Flower Oil (Immortelle).
This is one of the world's most precious essential oils, more expensive than gold. It is rich in skin super food antioxidants that promote skin cell regeneration, collagen and elastin production. In short, it helps skin stay young-looking. This works like a miracle for scars, so blemishes like pimples are easy-peasy.
There are many types of Helichrysum, what you want is the one with the Latin name Helichrysum Angustifolium. This is the one with studies on its effect on scars, wound-healing, and acne smoothening properties.
Long before it was prized as a beauty oil, Frankincense is considered sacred for its healing properties. Its Latin name is Botswellia Carterii. In ancient times, it is used to anoint Kings and reserved for the most valued persons. It was used during childbirth, for its wound healing and restorative properties. This oil makes your face feel awesomely smooth & supple.
This is a magic ingredient for a radiant, youthful glow. It gifts skin with a look of flawlessness and removes impurities, that's why brides-to-be in India are advised to nourish their faces with sandalwood.
It helps prevent acne and scarring, promote even skin tone, and aid in fighting free radicals that causes premature skin aging. Ancient Ayurvedic texts & Traditional Chinese Medicine praise sandalwood for its many medicinal uses, there are plenty of scientific evidence to support this. A superior variety of sandalwood has the Latin name is Sandalum Album.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
The organic virgin coconut oil from the Philippines is non-greasy, fast absorbing, and skin nourishing. And no, it does not clog pores. The misconception online that coconut oil is comedogenic stems from a controversial 1972 Rabbit Ear Assay Ratings that applied products on rabbit ears. This study (half a century ago) has been long debunked by newer research on human trials, such as the DHSA (Draelos Human Skin Assays) in 2005. Organic virgin coconut oil from the Philippines does not clog pores. It has anti-microbial and skin-restorative properties that promote soft, strong, healthy skin.
Many of you are familiar with the calming benefits of Lavender oil. Did you know it is helpful in preventing and improving the appearance of scars and blemishes? There are many varieties of Lavender, some used only for scents such as in laundry or air fresheners. Lavandula Angustifolia is widely studied for burns, scarring, pimples, and its skin regenerating properties. It is also called Fine Lavender oil.
To help skin feel smoother, clearer, and free of pimples, take care of your lifestyle & diet. Sleep early, thoroughly cleanse your face day and night with a fragrance-free cleanser, and moisturize with skin soothing plant oils.
